Sieving mechanism of drilling shale shaker
In the process of drilling, the drilling fluid carrying cuttings returned to the wellhead through the circulation system.First go through the elevated slot into the shaker, then after diversion box, then the logging tank diverted to the vibration shale shaker. Solid-liquid separation began. But there is a solid-liquid separation process, drilling fluid can not be immediately separated, but in a small part of the screen. At the same time, most of liquid along the screen surface was immediately separated, and formed the mud layer on the screen surface,the mud layer become thinner along with the separation process, until reach a specific position which is called liquid phase termination line. Over this line, the solid particles continue to move forward until leaving the shaker. When the shale shaker works normally, the liquid termination line is usually located at 2/3 to 3/4 of the effective length of the screen.
The basic technical requirement for fluid shale shaker is not only to eliminate the harmful solid as much as possible, but also to recover the drilling fluid as much as possible. The screening process includes the screening of the liquid phase and the movement of the solid phase on the screen. A solid is a debris or debris mass which is irregular in shape and size, and the drilling fluid is a fluid having a specific denaturation. The solid particles are immersed in the drilling fluid, and after separation, they are still wet particles surrounded by drilling fluid. Therefore, the structure and parameters of the vibrating screen and the performance of the drilling fluid will directly affect the screening process.
In order to ensure the solid-liquid separation on the screen is normal. No matter whether the solid particles are immersed in the drilling fluid, or have been separated, it is required to move forward in specific speed. When the solid particles are submerged and move too slow, it is easy to plug the screen. It is to reduce the amount of processing, and even to cause slurry-run, drilling fluid loss. When the solid-liquid separation is finished, the lower moving speed will increase the probability of small particles through the screen, and even solid particles piled on the screen.It will cause early destruction of the screen due to the excessive load.
Several moving methods of solid particles on the screen surface:
Relative static: particles or particles mass maintain contact with the screen surface and move together with the screen.
Forward sliding: the particles or the particles mass are kept in contact with the screen while moving towards the discharge port relative to the screen surface.
Reverse sliding: the particles and the particle mass keep in contact with the screen while moving in the reverse direction relative to the screen surface towards the discharge port.
Throwing angle: particles and particle mass are thrown off the screen surface, moving to the discharge port in a parabolic motion.
In order to make the shale shaker have a large processing ability and a higher rate of chip removal, the particles should be thrown on the screen surface. In the process of throwing, the particles are projected to the discharge port, and the contact time and the number with the screens are small, which greatly reduces the probability of the small particles passing through the screen. However, attention should be paid to the acceleration of the screen surface not too large, as long as the solid particles can overcome the adhesion to the drilling fluid. Too large normal acceleration will increase the collision of the screen when the particles fall, resulting in a high probability of the micro particles through the screen. Too large normal acceleration is also a higher requirement on the strength of the vibrating screen.
